Ronald McDonald Tooth Truck
Billings R-IV Schools is extremely happy to announce that the Ronald McDonald Tooth Truck will again be at our school this year starting in February 2019. The Tooth Truck is a mobile dentist office that provides dental services including x-rays, cleanings and sealants, root canals and fillings along with oral hygiene education while your child is at school. These services are partly covered by the student’s Medicaid or MO HealthNet and the rest is covered by private donations to the Tooth Truck.
The Tooth Truck will see students age 3 to 18 who meet the following requirements. Requirements for being seen and treated on the Tooth Truck are: (1) that your child be on or qualify for the free or reduced school lunch program, (2) have no dental insurance, (3) have no active dentist and (4) return a completed Tooth Truck application form. Students that are Medicaid eligible are preferred though not required. If your child does not meet any one of these requirements, they will not be seen on the Tooth Truck. If your child was seen last year on the Tooth Truck he/she might not be eligible to be seen this year, as the Tooth Truck encourages families to attempt to establish with a regular dentist after a visit on the Tooth Truck. However, go ahead and fill out an application and describe if your child has an urgent need and the Tooth Truck personnel will determine if they are eligible to be seen this year.
