Our young artists completed their Color Theory Unit right before entering October. Each grade level learned about a different color scheme and demonstrated that color scheme through their artwork. Along with their assigned color scheme, they learned about an artist that used that color scheme in their art. Check back soon to see their artwork displayed in the Elementary Art photo gallery on my classroom page. Below are the color schemes and artists that each grade level learned about.

Kindergarten- Color Wheel and artist Alama Thomas

1st Grade- Primary Colors and artist Piet Mondrian

2nd Grade- Secondary Colors and artist Vincent Van Gogh

3rd Grade- Warm/Cool Colors and artist Ted Harrison

4th Grade- Intermediate Colors and artist Mary Blair

5th Grade- Neutral Colors and artist Bridget Riley

6th Grade- Monochromatic and artist Pablo Picasso

K-6th is now beginning their Art Around the World Unit. They have been excited to learn about different countries and the artwork that is unique to their culture.
